A TIME TO REFLECT

In what seems like the blink of an eye, the Christmas season is upon us once again. The Christmas tree is up and decorated, Christmas carols are playing on the radio. Neighborhoods are all aglow with the festive lights of the season. Families will be gathering to celebrate the many good things from the year gone by.
Let’s remember the good things from the year past – both in our personal lives and as a nation.
Let’s also remember those who are unable to be with their family as they protect and defend our freedoms at military installations around the world. These brave men and women deserve our thanks as they proudly wear our country’s uniform this Christmas.
It is these same men and women who defend our right to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas: the birth of Christ. That birth so long ago often gets forgotten during the hectic holiday season.
This holiday season, I wish each of you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year filled with the blessings of time spent with friends, family and loved ones.
