DETTMER SWORN INTO OFFICE
St. Paul - State Representative Bob Dettmer (R-Forest Lake) began his first term in the Minnesota House of Representatives today when the 85th Legislature convened. Dettmer will represent the communities of Centerville, Columbus, Lino Lakes, Linwood Township, Forest Lake, Hugo, and New Scandia.
I am honored with the privilege of serving my community in the Minnesota House, Dettmer said. The opportunity to serve in the legislature is one that I take very seriously, and I am committed to working in a civil manner for sensible solutions in our state government. I will serve this job to the best of my abilities and with the respect that the office deserves. I am greatly looking forward to the opportunity to work on the issues that matter to our community and our state.
Rep. Dettmer will be retiring from teaching and as head wrestling coach at Forest Lake High School this June after 34 years. Dettmer is also entering his 21st year of service in the Army Reserve and has seen active duty in Operations Enduring and Iraqi Freedom. Dettmer will rely upon his vast knowledge of education issues and passion for Veterans issues as he will serve on the following House Committees:
E-12 Education;
Higher Education and Workforce Development Policy and Finance Division;
K-12 Education Finance Division;
Veterans Affairs Division.
