ST. PAUL – State Representative Carolyn Laine received a "100% Minnesotan" Award from the Conservation Voter Center for casting her vote consistently for conservation during the 2007 Legislative Session.
"I am honored to receive this award," said Representative Laine. "Minnesotans want real solutions to address the global warming crisis and we adopted strong conservation policies with this in mind. This award means we delivered on important environmental and energy initiatives both early and often last session."
Minnesota Legislative leaders delivered on conservation policy initiatives that made clean, safe energy, recycling, wetlands conservation, protection of our water, and global warming key priorities for Minnesota. The 2007 Legislature passed the most comprehensive clean energy reforms in the nation.
"This was an incredible year for Minnesotans who care about conservation" said Representative Laine. "It was wonderful to participate in a legislative process that really addressed Minnesota's energy and environmental needs. Next year, Minnesota will celebrate its 150th anniversary as a state and I can’t think of a better birthday present than a healthy environment to give to our state and to our children."
