Every Legislative session is an opportunity for policymakers to engage in the issues of the day and make a difference to their communities. The challenges before us this year reflect core concerns made clear by Minnesotans in the November elections. Voters sent a strong message to elected officials asking us to get together and offer property tax relief to homeowners, ensure a better education for our children, and provide affordable health care coverage.
The 85th Legislative session is well underway and we are busy in committees, listening to testimony and debating the policies of the day. I am looking forward to a productive session that will deliver on the issues Minnesotans care about.
I am inviting you to attend one of my two town meetings coming up on March 3rd. At 10:30 a.m., I will be in Columbia Heights at the Columbia Heights Public Library on 4th Avenue. At 1:00 p.m., I will be at the Anoka County Library – Mississippi Branch on Mississippi Street.
I encourage you to attend one of these meetings. The meetings are an opportunity to make your voice heard and have your questions answered while allowing me to better represent you.
