ST. PAUL - State Representative Carolyn Laine of Columbia Heights took the oath of office represent District 50A in the Minnesota House. Laine succeeds Barb Goodwin, who retired from the Legislature.
"Residents of Columbia Heights, Fridley, Hilltop, St. Anthony, and across Minnesota sent a clear message this past November," Laine said. "They want permanent property tax reform, good schools, affordable health care, and safe and efficient transportation."
In only her first term, Laine has earned House Speaker Margaret Anderson Kelliher's trust to serve on five different committees. Rep. Laine earned seats on the Education, Early Childhood Education, Housing and Public Health, Labor and Consumer Protection, and Minnesota Heritage Committees.
"These committee seats put me in a great spot to address the concerns of our communities," Laine added.
Now that her legislative office is up and running, Laine is urging constituents to contact her via phone, e-mail, or in person.
"Representing the interests of Columbia Heights, Fridley, Hilltop, and St. Anthony is my number one priority at the Legislature."
Laine can be reach by phone at 651-296-4331 or via e-mail at rep.carolyn.laine@house.mn.
