Statement on Legislative Coordinating Commission Vote

(ST. PAUL) — Today, the Legislative Coordinating Commission voted to spend $18,000 in taxpayer money to hire counsel and oppose legal challenges to the language of the Photo ID constitutional amendment.

State Representative Ryan Winkler (DFL – Golden Valley) released the following statement:

“Republican legislators continue to fail to address job creation and building an economy that supports a strong middle class. They seem to care only about constitutional amendments and partisan wedge issues.

“Republican incompetence has led to large legal bills for sex scandals and now constitutional amendments. When will Republicans get the message that the people want them to solve problems, not indulge in reckless behavior and pointless lawsuits?”
