WASHINGTON, D.C. - The National Coalition for Capital (NCFC) recently recognized State Representative Ryan Winkler for his ongoing efforts to promote economic development in Minnesota. Representative Winkler was honored for taking a leadership role in several key legislative efforts to foster capital investment in traditionally underserved regions across the state.
Specifically, Rep. Winkler’s legislative efforts supporting economic development included:
• Sponsoring a bill to allow an individual income and corporate franchise credit for investing in Minnesota high technology businesses.
• Creating a start-up business investment fund by providing tax incentives to lure venture capital to Minnesota.
“Representative Ryan Winkler’s advocacy has had a measurable impact on access to capital for entrepreneurs whose businesses will continue to grow in the state, in turn providing good jobs for local residents and creating on-going value for our communities," said Craig Casselberry, Executive Director of the National Coalition for Capital.
Rep. Winkler was presented with the award in New Orleans, Louisiana, while many state leaders from across the country were attending the National Conference of State Legislators.
