ST. PAUL—State Representative Sarah Anderson (R-Plymouth) hosted a small business forum last week to listen to local job providers and discuss what can be done to help eliminate barriers to economic recovery. The event was attended by small business owners and residents, and was held at Turck in conjunction with the TwinWest Chamber of Commerce.
“The business forum provided the opportunity to hear directly from local job providers about the challenges of the current economy and to have a conversation about what they want from Minnesota government,” said Rep. Anderson.
Participants focused on Minnesota’s tax and regulatory burdens, and the hurdles in the way of job growth and expansion.
“The message was resoundingly clear: government should not be the reason a business closes its doors and moves jobs out of this state,” said Rep. Anderson. “Investment incentives and tax and regulatory relief are just a few examples we discussed for common-sense solutions to achieve real recovery,” Rep. Anderson continued.
“From energy to medical technology start-ups, we see the hard work and ingenuity of Minnesotans every day. By listening and collaborating with Minnesota’s job providers and making the real reforms to improve our business climate, we can provide our citizens the economic opportunity to succeed.”
