Collaborating to Foster Job Growth in Minnesota

ST. PAUL--Tuesday, State Representative Sarah Anderson (R-District 43A, Plymouth) and State Senator Terri Bonoff (DFL-District 43, Minnetonka) joined Enterprise Minnesota in commending Plymouth-based Kromer Company for their efforts to grow jobs in Minnesota. Kromer Co. manufactures cutting-edge athletic field maintenance products and is the recipient of a matching grant through Enterprise Minnesota’s Growth Acceleration Program.

“Kromer Company is an example of the ingenuity and drive of Minnesota’s workforce. They show that with the right tools, Minnesota’s small businesses can find success and grow jobs in the 21st century economy,” said Representative Sarah Anderson.

“We are proud of this strong innovative company. We know that the strength of our economy depends on the talent and ingenuity of small businesses like Kromer. I am hopeful that we can enhance and improve the business climate in Minnesota during the upcoming legislative session. We also appreciate Enterprise Minnesota for the financial and resource partnership they provide to our small business community,” said Senator Terri Bonoff.

Kromer Co. was founded in 1945 by W.O. Kromer as an agricultural manufacturing company, and for the last twenty years has been manufacturing athletic field maintenance products. What began as a family operation working out of a garage is now grossing over $1 million annually and employing a team of nine in its Plymouth facility. Kromer’s most recent innovation, the Field Commander, was designed, engineered and built by the Kromer team in less than 18 months and is setting an industry standard.

“As the legislature works to help small businesses like Kromer, we would also do well to learn from them. They listened to their customers, took their feedback, and worked as a team to innovate and deliver a superior result. This is exactly what Minnesota government needs to do for its customers, the citizens of Minnesota,” said Representative Sarah Anderson.
