PLYMOUTH SCHOOL EARNS BLUE-RIBBON AWARD
To the Editor,
I would like to take a moment to congratulate the staff and students at Kimberly Lane Elementary school in Plymouth for earning the Blue Ribbon Award from the U.S. Department of Education. Teachers at Kimberly Lane challenge students to achieve success and the students respond by meeting and exceeding expectations. They deserve this award.
The Blue Ribbon Award is reserved for the best of the best schools, making Kimberly Lane Elementary’s success even more special. Only 287 out of more than 90,000 schools in the entire country earned the award this year, eight of which where in Minnesota. We are extremely fortunate to have one of them working right here in Plymouth.
In November, Kimberly Lane Principal Gary Kipling and fourth grade teacher Mrs. (Janelle) Mattson will be in Washington, D.C., to accept the award on behalf of their students and fellow teachers. Congratulations to Principal Kipling, all the teachers and all the students at Kimberly Lane for the hard work you put in to earn the Blue Ribbon Award. It is richly deserved.
