THANK YOU!
To the editor,
The 2007 legislative session began January 3 with all 134 House members, including myself, taking the oath of office. Being able to have my family present at the swearing in ceremony made it a truly special day and I want to thank everyone in Plymouth and Medicine Lake for trusting me with the responsibility of representing you at the State Capitol.
My goal is to be open, honest, and accountable. Many of you made the effort to contact me with your thoughts and ideas during last fall’s campaign and I encourage anyone who has a suggestion or concern to contact my legislative office and talk with me personally. From the feedback I received while going door-to-door this past summer and fall, it was clear that property taxes are a top concern. I am pleased to say that this year I will be serving on the House Property Tax Relief and Local Sales Tax Division, charged with finding a solution. The four additional committees I will work on include: 1) Commerce and Labor (job creation), 2) Government Operations and Reform, Technology and Elections, 3) State Government Finance, and 4) Labor and Consumer Protection.
I am looking forward to collaborating with fellow legislators and you to do what's right for Minnesota. Together we will find solutions to the challenges we may face and will move Minnesota forward to greater success.
