ST. PAUL – John Ward of Brainerd began his third term in the Minnesota House of Representatives on Tuesday, as he was officially sworn in as the District 12A State Representative. Ward, who was an educator for over 30 years, will once again serve on the Education Finance Committee, as well as the Agriculture and Rural Development Policy and Finance and the Capital Investment committees.
“I’m honored and humbled to be given another opportunity to represent the people of our district in the Minnesota House," said Ward. “This session we face the challenge of closing a $6.2 billion state budget shortfall. While I no longer serve in the majority, I am committed to working with my colleagues across the aisle on a budget solution that will protect jobs, provide a good education for our children, help our seniors retire with dignity and strenthen middle-class families.”
