ST. PAUL – State Representative John Ward is pleased to announce that there are three open positions on the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities Board of Trustees in 2010. The Board of Trustees supports and advises MnSCU administration, making sure that Minnesota’s school stay ahead of the curve.
“Working on the Board of Trustees is a great opportunity to give back to Minnesota’s students and schools," said Rep. Ward. “Minnesota’s colleges and universities are top notch, and this is due in part to the foresight and guidance of the board’s members. They have been successful in focusing on providing a world-class education at an affordable price for students throughout Minnesota.”
The Trustee Candidate Advisory Council (TCAC) is looking for qualified individuals that represent a diverse population throughout the state. TCAC intends to fill one seat from the 1st Congressional District, one from the 8th Congressional District, and the final seat is intended for statewide representation. They are looking for candidates with administration experience in complex organizations, knowledge of Minnesota’s post-secondary schools, and leadership qualities that would both challenge and help school administrators.
