The Minnesota Historical Society is seeking candidates for service on the Historic Resources Advisory Committee, which is charged with provide policy and grant making guidance on expenditure of funds from the newly passed Legacy Amendment.
Rep. John Ward, Brainerd, is encouraging any area resident who is interested in serving on this committee to apply soon.
“This committee will help make the decisions on how $6.75 million will be spent in the 2010-11 biennium for statewide historic and cultural grants," said Ward. “If you have any interest in playing a role in creating projects of enduring historic value, consider applying for this committee.”
The anticipated time commitment for committee members will be substantial as the grants program is shaped over the coming months. Appointments will be made in August. If interested, send a letter of interest specifying your qualifications, a brief resume and two references, to: Grants Office, Historic Resources Advisory Committee, Minnesota Historical Society, 345 Kellogg Blvd., St. Paul, MN 55102 or mnshpo@mnhs.org.
