St. Paul, MN – State Rep. John Ward is pleased to announce that the Legislative-Citizen Commission on Minnesota Resources (LCCMR) has issued its 2010 Request for Proposals (RFP) for funding from the Environment and Natural Resources Trust fund.
According to Ward, projects are being sought in specific environment and natural resource areas that
provide multiple ecological and other public benefits. Proposals responding to the 2010 RFP are due
Friday, May 1, 2009.
“This RFP is open to private, nonprofit, local government and state agencies that can demonstrate a public benefit and have a financial accountability structure in place," said Ward. “I would encourage anyone who believes they might qualify to apply; if the LCCMR is not a good fit, they might be able to direct you to other avenues for funding.”
Proposals are being requested in the following seven categories:
1. Water Resources: Specifically relating to groundwater sustainability, contaminants in surface and ground waters, and aquatic habitat protection;
2. Renewable Energy Related to Climate Change;
3. Habitat Restoration, Enhancement, and Acquisition;
4. Prevention and control of invasive species;
5. Natural Resource Conservation Planning and Implementation;
6. Environmental Education for K-12 and adult audiences; and
7. Creative Ideas - “out of the box” thinking, ideas, and innovation that could
produce transformative changes benefitting Minnesota’s environment and natural resources.
