REP. WARD APPOINTED TO MN. TOURISM COUNCIL




St. Paul, MN – Speaker of the House Margaret Anderson Kelliher has appointed State Rep. John Ward (Brainerd) to serve on the Minnesota Tourism Council, a statewide group of businesspeople and legislators dedicated to protecting and promoting the tourism industry in Minnesota.
“Tourism is a key component of our district’s economic strength and prosperity," said Ward. “From the largest resorts to the smallest Mom and Pop campgrounds, we need to make every effort to protect these businesses and the jobs they provide.”
Rep. Ward said that the leisure and hospitality industry provides over $11 billion in gross annual sales in Minnesota and employs almost 250 thousand workers. This is his second term on the council.
