St. Paul, MN – State Representative John Ward is pleased to announce that Crow Wing County's application for a Small Cities Development Program (SCDP) award has been approved in the amount of $770,700. According to Ward, this money will be used to rehabilitate 18 rental units, nine commercial units and one community center facility.
"I want to congratulate Crow Wing County for their efforts in applying for this grant," said Ward. "The resources from this program are critical to the efforts of rural communities in addressing their needs for housing, public infrastructure and the revitalization of downtown areas."
SCDP awards are administered by the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED). The SCDP program encourages community development efforts that further the goal of providing a decent and suitable living environment for all households in rural Minnesota, with emphasis on benefits for low and moderate income families.
