St. Paul, MN – State Representative John Ward is pleased to announce that Brainerd resident Terry McGaughey will be honored by the Parks and Trails Council of Minnesota with an award in the field of Citizen Action. McGaughey was selected because of the major impact he has had on the excellence of our state's thriving system of public parkland and trails.
"I want to congratulate Terry, and thank him for all of his efforts toward making the state trail connecting Crow Wing State Park to Lake Bemidji State Park a reality," said Ward. "They don't call him "Mr. Paul Bunyan" for nothing."
According to the Parks and Trails Council, McGaughey has spent a quarter of a century working on the 110-mile trail. He will be honored at the first Annual Ball of the Wild Awards dinner on April 24, 20078, at the Nicollet Island Pavilion in Minneapolis.
