St. Paul, MN – Legislation authored by State Rep. John Ward (DFL – Brainerd) that will improve emergency services for people in his district passed on the House floor today by a unanimous vote.
The bill will allow Emergency Medical Services Regulatory Board members to serve up to two consecutive terms so that they have more time to gain knowledge and understanding of the complicated EMS system. Current law prohibits them from serving more than one four-year term.
"The bill will greatly improve the safety and well-being of my constituents, and Minnesotans across the state," said Rep. Ward. "It's very rewarding that it moved so quickly through the legislative process and received full support from my colleagues in the House."
