ST. PAUL, MN – Legislation introduced by State Rep. John Ward (DFL-Brainerd) that will provide significant savings for statewide Ma and Pa campgrounds passed on the House floor today with strong bipartisan support. The final vote was 131-1.
The legislation (HF2090) allows for a hose bib vacuum breaker backflow preventer to be used at water supply connections in RV camping areas. According to Ward, this change could save as much as $4 thousand a year for small campgrounds and up to $20 thousand for larger campgrounds.
"I'm very happy to be able to do this for all of the Ma and Pa campgrounds in Minnesota," said Ward. "I’m hoping the Senate and Governor will move quickly so this legislation can go into effect before the camping season starts."
