TIF BILL AUTHORED BY REP. HANSEN RECEIVES COMMITTEE HEARING
(ST. PAUL) – A bill authored by state Representative Rick Hansen (DFL – South St. Paul), recently received a hearing in the Property and Local Tax Division. The bill, HF 2497, allows the Dakota County Community Development Authority to continue a redevelopment tax increment financing district in the city of West St. Paul
This gives the county additional time to use this land for economic development and incentives for businesses to locate in the area.
“In a time when our economy is still struggling, we should take every opportunity to help our cities and counties conduct economic redevelopment," said Rep. Hansen. “This bill will do just that and will help attract businesses to our area.”
Officials from Dakota and West St. Paul testified in support of the bill. The bill was positively received and laid over for inclusion in the Omnibus Tax bill.
