STATEMENT ON REDISTRICTING MAPS
ST. PAUL — Today, a five-judge panel unveiled its plan for redistricting Minnesota’s state Senate and House districts. The judicial panel redistricting maps are posted at the following website: http://www.gis.leg.mn/html/redistricting.html.
State Representative Rick Hansen (DFL – South St. Paul) released the following statement on the new redistricting maps:
“While the new redistricting maps bring a lot of intrigue and evaluation at the State Capitol, job creation and strengthening our economic recovery remain my top priorities. Jobs and the economy are what Minnesotans care about — regardless of legislative district — and it’s what we need to care about. The legislative session continues and we need to remain focused on the job at hand.
“The new district lines will go into effect for this fall's election. Minnesotans do have an interest in learning about their new lines. I will work hard to provide the people I serve with information and resources so they can understand how the new lines may affect them before the coming election.
“I encourage any constituents with questions about the new district lines to contact me for more information. Every day, I look forward to working for the people of District 39A."
