HELP AVAILABLE FOR VETERANS AT LOCAL EVENT
WEST ST. PAUL - State Rep. Rick Hansen (DFL - South St. Paul) announced today that representatives from the Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) will be on-hand at this year's annual West St. Paul Days celebration. VA representatives will provide counsel for Minnesota veterans who have questions about their military benefits. Currently, only a small percentage of veterans take advantage of the programs and benefits they are entitled to.
"At a time when many Minnesotans are returning home from service overseas, we owe it to our military personnel to do everything possible to ensure their smooth transition back into civilian life," said Rep. Hansen. "Military servicemembers are entitled to many benefits and programs that can help make that transition better. By being proactive, we can inform more veterans of these important services."
VA representatives will be on hand Saturday, May 17 in the Signal Hills Shopping Center parking lot on Robert Street between 11:00 am and 4:00 pm.
