Dear Editor,
We would like to thank everyone who took the time to meet with us at the Education Summits we hosted in several statewide locations. The meetings were very successful and we were gratified to see the number of people who truly care about education.
As first-term DFL legislators, we have made public education one of our foremost priorities. We believe that every student in Minnesota deserves a high quality education and that funding for our schools should be equitable and adequate. We have worked hard to present sound and innovative ideas to the state legislature that we believe will move us closer to these goals. Some of these efforts met with success while others were not moved forward. We will not give up, however, but will continue to listen, develop fresh ideas and work hard to improve public education.
We appreciate your feedback and involvement in this process. Please do not hesitate to contact any of us if you have questions or suggestions that will help us better meet the important challenges that are facing our Minnesota schools.
