ST. PAUL---State Representative Joyce Peppin, R-Rogers, encourages area residents to watch their mailboxes for her 2005 legislative survey.
"Citizen input is important to me as I review legislation under consideration at the Capitol," said Peppin. "I hope that everyone will take time to complete the survey and return it to me so that I can get a good feel for the opinions of local residents on state issues important to them.
The Peppin survey contains questions about key issues facing the legislature. In the coming weeks, many of these issues will come to the floor of the House. Peppin intends to use responses from constituents as a guide during debate on legislation.
"There are a number of factors a legislator must take into account while deciding how to vote on legislation," said Peppin. "Input from constituents is extremely important in helping me to better represent the views of our district."
Included are questions about a proposed statewide smoking ban, proposals to eliminate the state budget deficit, and state tax policy.
Peppin represents District 32A, which includes the communities of Corcoran, Dayton, Greenfield, Hanover, Rogers, Hassan Township, and southwestern Maple Grove.
Peppin invites anyone to share their questions or comments about state government with her. She may be reached by email at rep.joyce.peppin@house.mn; by phone at (651) 296-7806; or by U.S. Mail at 411 State Office Building, St. Paul, MN 55155.
