REPRESENTATIVE PEPPIN NAMED MARSHALL MEMORIAL FELLOW
St. Paul – State Representative Joyce Peppin (R – Rogers) was recently named a Fellow for the Marshall Memorial Fellowship. Founded in 1982, the Marshall Memorial Fellowship is a privately funded organization created by the German Marshall Fund of the United States to introduce a new generation of European leaders to America's institutions, politics, and people.
Rep. Peppin will travel with approximately 25 other American fellows on a three week visit to various cities across Europe. They will meet formally and informally with a range of policymakers and prominent members of the business, government, political, and media communities. Along the way, each Fellow will have the opportunity to explore his or her professional interests beyond the group programs, which focus on a range of domestic and international policy areas.
“It’s an honor to be selected for this highly competitive fellowship,” remarked Rep. Peppin. “It will be a great experience to meet with leaders from around the world and discuss a wide breadth of issues ranging from the economy to U.S. foreign policy to solving the health care crisis.”
Peppin said will use her experience as a Marshall Memorial Fellow to learn more about European government, to glean public policy initiatives, and to obtain a broader understanding of global public policy issues.
