St. Paul - Today Representative Joyce Peppin (R-Rogers) took the oath of office for a second term in the Minnesota House of Representatives, as legislators from around the state gathered at the State Capitol in St. Paul to officially convene the 85th Legislature. Additionally, Peppin was named Assistant Minority Whip.
It is a privilege to serve for a second term in the Minnesota House, and an honor to be again named to a leadership post, Peppin said. I am excited to continue my work on transportation, education, jobs, and other issues that matter to our community. Working towards a more responsible state government that better serves the needs of Minnesota citizens is something I am committed to achieving.
Peppin will serve on the following four House committees:
Biosciences and Emerging Technologies;
Finance;
Health Care and Human Services Finance Division;
State Government Finance Division.
This slate of committees allows Peppin to serve on three influential finance committees which oversee state spending, including the Health Committee, which oversees billions of state spending on human services. The Biosciences and Emerging Technologies Committee provides a vehicle for exploring ways in which Minnesota can advance in these cutting-edge fields. I am especially excited to serve on this committee because our district includes Boston Scientific, a leader in innovative medical products, Peppin said.
Peppin encourages constituents to contact her with questions or opinions on any state legislative issue. She may be reached at rep.joyce.peppin@house.mn or 651.296.7806. Mail should be sent to Rep. Joyce Peppin, 331 State Office Building, 100 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., St. Paul, MN 55155.
