State Representative Diane Loeffler was awarded special recognition by Politics in Minnesota, the state's premier public affairs newsletter, for her work as a freshman legislator.
All 26 freshmen legislators in the Minnesota House were named "2006 Freshman Legislator of the Year" and were called "bright, shining stars" who "brought earnestness and enthusiasm" to the House of Representatives, as well as a "refreshing willingness to work with members of the other party".
Rep. Loeffler was among the eight who were singled out for special recognition for their effectiveness in working across party lines in an effort to end to the partisan stalemate that has plagued the legislature in recent years.
According to Politics in Minnesota, the "we don't have to do it the way it's always been done" attitude of the freshmen legislators bodes well for the years to come as these representatives such as Loeffler climb the seniority ladder.
