ST. PAUL – Rep. Tina Liebling was recognized by the Coalition of Greater Minnesota Cities Thursday (July 28) at the coalition’s three-day summer conference in Moorhead, Minn.
Liebling, a first-term legislator from Rochester, received the coalition’s Legislator of Distinction Award for annexation and land use policy.
Tim Flaherty, the coalition’s executive director, said Liebling stepped up to the challenge to spearhead controversial legislation that sought to provide balance to the annexation discussion.
“Rep. Liebling was not afraid to tackle a complex issue for the benefit of her constituents. As a first-term legislator, she saw what was wrong in the process and sought to change it. She led by example to stand up for greater Minnesota."
The CGMC is a nonprofit advocacy organization that represents 71 cities outside of the Twin Cities metropolitan area. The coalition educates legislators about issues important to greater Minnesota.
