(SAINT PAUL) — Tonight Governor Dayton delivered his State of the State address, outlining his proposals to put Minnesotans back to work, reform government, and improve Minnesota’s workforce.
Rep. Tina Liebling (DFL – Rochester) and Rep. Kim Norton (DFL – Rochester) applauded Governor Dayton’s desire to collaborate and get Minnesotans back to work, and his commitment to improving education.
“I applaud Governor Dayton’s leadership and his forward-thinking vision to create a better and stronger Minnesota," said Rep. Liebling. “While we’ve seen our economy improve, much more needs to be done. A jobs plan with a focus on proven initiatives can put thousands of Minnesotans back to work and invest in the infrastructure necessary for long-term economic growth. I look forward to working with Governor Dayton and my colleagues to make these a reality.”
“Governor Dayton has shown strong leadership and a commitment to improving education — from early children through higher education,” said Rep. Norton. “Education is essential to developing the highly-skilled and innovative workforce that will attract and retain businesses for our state. A high-quality education system is our ticket to a stronger economic recovery and better futures for our children.
“I’m hopeful that with the governor’s leadership and cooperative, bipartisan work in the legislature, we can get this done and help create the workforce we need for a brighter future.”
