REP. LIEBLING ANNOUNCES TOLL-FREE TAX ASSISTANCE NUMBER
ST. PAUL – State Representative Tina Liebling has announced a toll-free tax assistance number has been reinstated for Minnesota taxpayers living in Greater Minnesota.
According to Liebling, residents with questions about their state tax return can now call the Minnesota Department of Revenue toll-free to get their questions answered. Liebling, an Assistant Majority Leader in the Minnesota House, worked on legislation last year in response to conversation with a concerned constituent, but that bill did not get a hearing. This year she sponsored the same legislation and the Minnesota Department of Revenue responded by reinstating the service, a move that pleased Liebling.
"Eliminating the toll-free number in the first place was a mistake," said Liebling. "People living outside of the metro area who are trying to complete accurate and timely tax returns should be able to make a free phone call when they have questions. Long-distance calls to get tax questions answered can be very long and expensive."
