LIEBLING COMMENDS HOUSE PASSAGE OF RENEWABLE ENERGY STANDARD
Assistant Majority Leader Tina Liebling issued the following statement in response to the passage of the Renewable Energy Standard.
"I couldn't be more pleased to see the Renewable Energy Standard pass the Minnesota House. This legislation means thousands of jobs, millions of dollars in investment, significant reductions in global warming emissions, and cleaner air and water."
"The broad bi-partisan support for this bill (123 to 10) represents a coalition of business and environmentalists working with the Legislature and the Governor to make Minnesota a leader in the new energy economy. It sends a strong signal to industry that our state is open for business for green manufacturing and construction, and will benefit workers across Minnesota."
"Many times during my political career my youngest son, now 13, has asked what we are doing to protect the world he will live in. Today, I am proud to tell him that we have taken a big step toward that end."
