State Representative Tina Liebling (DFL – Rochester) was pleased that several projects important to the Rochester community were included in the House of Representatives bonding bill that passed the Capital Investment Committee today. The Rochester Bioscience Development Center, Regional Public Safety Training Center and Olmsted Waste to Energy facility all received funding in the House bonding bill.
"I'm very pleased that the House bill includes funding for these critical Rochester projects," said Liebling. "With all three proposals in both the House and Senate bonding bills, I'm optimistic that this will be another great bonding year for the Rochester area. I'm proud that as Rochester legislators, we've successfully worked together to build support for initiatives like bioscience development."
Several other Rochester area bonding proposals did not receive funding in the House bill, including the National Volleyball Center and several area trails. Rep. Liebling emphasized, however, that these proposals received funding in the Senate bill and were still alive as the bonding process moves toward conference committee.
"I will continue working with the entire Rochester delegation to lobby for the inclusion of these important projects in the final bonding bill that comes out of the conference committee," said Liebling.
