NEWS RELEASE

REP. HAMILTON NAMED ASSISTANT MINORITY LEADER OF MINNESOTA HOUSE REPUBLICAN CAUCUS

ST. PAUL – State Representative Rod Hamilton (R-Mountain Lake) has been appointed to the position of Assistant Minority Leader by new Minnesota House Republican Leader Kurt Zellers.

“I am honored to have been asked and appointed to serve as an Assistant Minority Leader,” said Hamilton. “Representative Zellers will work hard to balance the interests of rural and suburban Minnesota, and I look forward to helping him accomplish this goal.”

Hamilton was first elected to the Minnesota House in 2004, and has been a tireless advocate for rural Minnesota by prioritizing funding for long-term care facilities, as well as funding equity for schools and nursing homes in Greater Minnesota.

“This upcoming legislative session promises to be challenging, as many Capitol insiders predict lawmakers will need to solve another budget deficit during the 2010 session,” Hamilton said. “While this new leadership position brings added responsibilities, I look forward to continuing to advocate for the interests of my constituents, and encourage them to contact me if they have questions or concerns.”

Hamilton can be reached by phone at 1-800-735-2463. He can also be contacted via e-mail at rep.rod.hamilton@house.mn, or via U.S. Mail at 209 State Office Building, St. Paul, MN 55155.
