ST. PAUL, MN – State Representative Pat Garofalo (R-Farmington) joined other legislators to show bipartisan support for HF2695, the Omnibus jobs bill, as Governor Pawlenty signed it into law on April 1. The bill implements policies designed to promote private sector job growth in Minnesota.
The bill:
• Creates a 25 percent Angel Investor tax credit to encourage investment in area start-up small businesses
• Increases the research and development tax credit and expands it to include small businesses to encourage them to develop new products/ideas
“This bill is a step in the right direction toward putting Minnesotans back to work. Rather than more government spending, we are putting money back in the hands of the people, and these tax credits are empowering small businesses to grow,” said Garofalo. “This bill will encourage investment in Dakota County and help bring jobs back to Farmington and Lakeville. I’m proud to stand behind Gov. Pawlenty today as he signs this bill into law.”
