To the editor,
Last Wednesday it was my privilege to take to oath of office and continue serving you in your Minnesota House of Representatives. I truly believe 2007 will be a great year in the State of Minnesota. We have an economy that created the jobs that led to a $2 billion budget surplus. Many people think of it as belonging to the government, but I believe it belongs to all of us, the people of Minnesota. We worked hard, we created jobs and provided for our families. We deserve to have the budget surplus be used to our benefit.
During the last campaign I visited every corner of our district and met with thousands of you from every community. Everyone had their own opinion about a host of different issues, but no matter what their viewpoint was they all had one common goal: a better Minnesota.
My goal as your state representative is to keep an open mind to all our ideas and, when the day is done, reach a solution that every person can look at and say, “This makes Minnesota better.”
But just because the campaign is over doesn’t mean I don’t want to hear from you. I highly value your opinion and I encourage you to share it with me whenever you wish.
