Dear Editor,
Last week I participated in the National Conference of State Legislature's "Legislators Back To School Program." One week was designated as a time for elected officials in all 50 states to meet with young constituents to answer questions, share ideas and listen to their concerns.
I had the pleasure of visiting with the seniors and juniors at Faribault Senior High. I found them to be informed and attentive, with good questions regarding the way the business of the state is being done and with a watchful eye to the future.
These young adults share many of the concerns that trouble us all: how to pay the high cost of gas to run their cars, sustaining funding for school programs and extra-curricular activities and how to pay for continuing their education, among others. I share their concerns on these issues, and am committed to continuing to work hard to find solutions.
I wish the best of luck to all of them as they finish their final years of high school. Their future is filled with many challenges, but I have no doubt that they are up to the task of leading our community, state and country into a brighter, more positive future.
Sincerely,
State Representative Patti Fritz
