Rep. Patti Fritz hails inclusion of Faribault projects funding in House bonding package

Rep. Patti Fritz (DFL-Faribault) commended the inclusion of funds for three bills she authored as part of the House Capital Investment bill released today.
"This is such a wonderful day," said Rep. Fritz. "These projects will bring almost $90 million into our community."
The Faribault prison was given full funding of almost $85 million and the South Central Technical College Applied Lab, which is shared by the Faribault campus, received almost $5 million.
Another bill that Rep. Fritz introduced did not receive full funding but was included in the final bonding bill.
"We didn't get everything we wanted for the Minnesota State Academies Asset Preservation but the $4.2 million we got came close, " said Fritz. "We're excited this was included and we will work on full funding in the future."
The House Capital Investment bill now moves into the Ways and Means Committee before reaching the House floor for a final vote, possibly next week.
The Senate approved the project as past of their Capital Investment bill passed last month.
"Today's news indicates that the legislature is taking a positive step forward," said Rep. Fritz. "I hope this continues."
"It just shows you what can be done if we work together."
