VETERANS DESERVE OUR CONTINUED SUPPORT
Dear Editor,
Every November, Americans honor the men and women who have bravely served their country in the Armed Services. It is especially important again this year that we honor those currently serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. We are deeply grateful to them for their service, and to the many others who have committed to serve our country in the past.
We worked hard last session to offer continued support for our veterans, tapping unused Minnesota GI Bill dollars to increase funding for both veterans and military affairs. Minnesota’s veterans’ homes were preserved, allowing them to maintain their current level of service, funding was provided for necessary repairs at the five state veterans’ homes, and GI Education benefits were kept whole. I will continue to be a strong advocate for our veterans and their families.
Minnesota's soldiers and their families deserve our support. Please join me in thanking our veterans and active service members for all they do.
