State Rep. Patti Fritz, Faribault, is pleased to announce that the Minnesota Public Facilities Authority has approved an infrastructure financing package for the city of Faribault. The package includes funds from the Federal American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) and consists of almost $25 million in a Clean Water Revolving Fund loan for 20 years at a low interest rate of 2.550 percent. The money will be used for substantial rehabilitation to the existing wastewater treatment plant.
“I’ve worked hard over the past few years to secure funding for the infrastructure needs of our community, especially when it comes to clean water," said Fritz. “This low-interest package will save Faribault over $7 million over the term of the loan, as well as make the improvements we so badly need.
I want to congratulate the city of Faribault for its application and commitment to the project.”
