Public involvement is key to success at the Capitol

To the Editor:

On behalf of my colleagues, Representatives Neva Walker, Jeanne Poppe and Ann Lenczewski, I want to thank everyone who attended our Town Meeting on Tuesday night. The discussion was energized, covering a wide range of issues that challenge all of us, including health care, education and early childhood funding, transportation and gambling. It is so encouraging to see how many people truly care about the tough issues facing our state.

Building a budget that works for Minnesota isn't going to be easy. In fact, we’ll probably hit a number of rough spots over the next few months. I, for one, remain confident that together we will find a way to balance the budget fairly, while still protecting the unique qualities that make Minnesota competitive and a great place to live and raise a family.

While we work through this difficult task, I encourage all of you to stay involved and continue to communicate with all of your state leaders. We represent you, and our job is made easier when we keep the lines of communication open. My promise to you is that I will listen and do the best job I can for you in St. Paul. It is truly an honor to represent you.

Please feel free to contact me anytime, by phone at (651) 296-3201, e-mail at rep.patti.fritz@house.mn or by mail at 247 State Office Building, St. Paul, MN 55155.

Sincerely,
(signed)
