ST. PAUL, MN Speaker of the House Margaret Anderson Kelliher has appointed Representative Patti Fritz (DFL-Faribault) to the E-12 Conference Committee. The committee will begin meeting this week to work out the differences between the House and Senate education bills.
"Representative Fritz has been a tireless champion of Minnesota public schools," said Speaker Kelliher. "Her commitment to making sure every child has access to a first-rate education will serve our state well as the conference committee takes on their important work."
The House Education bill will now move to Conference Committee, where members from both bodies will reconcile differences between the House and Senate bills. From there, the bill will go to the Governor for his signature.
"I am thrilled to be given this opportunity," said Fritz. "Minnesotans want world class schools in every community and all parts of the state, regardless of property wealth or income. Coming up with a strong bill that provides adequate resources to our schools and our early learners is a challenge I look forward to taking on."
