ST. PAUL - Calling it "a true privilege and a great
responsibility," and accompanied by his family, State
Representative Matt Dean, R-Dellwood, took his oath of office to
represent District 52B in the Minnesota House of Representatives.
"Being trusted with the duty of speaking for our communities is an
honor," Rep. Dean said after being sworn in. "I pledge nothing
short of the best of my abilities in representing everyone, Republican
or Democrat," he added. Rep. Dean is one of 26 legislators serving
their first term in the Minnesota House.
During the next two years, Rep. Dean will serve on four House
committees. They are: Health Policy and Finance; Education Policy and
Reform; Capital Investment; and lastly, Civil Law and Elections. Rep.
Dean said he is pleased to be working on health and education issues, as
they will be two of the most talked about areas when setting the budget
for the next to years.
