Minnesota Legislature Cuts the Red Tape and Streamlines the Permitting Process
Statement from Speaker of the House Kurt Zellers on Permit Reform
" We need to move permitting at the speed of commerce and provide more certainty for job creators. The Minnesota Legislature today approved a bill that builds upon last year’s successful permit reform legislation and further streamlines permitting and environmental review. The bill we passed today provides more options and different ways for project proposers to efficiently and effectively move applications through the permit process. It also directs environmental permit coordination with Governor Dayton's Business First Stop initiative at the Department of Employment and Economic Development. Permit reform is just one component of the Republican jobs package this session that will make Minnesota competitive, create economic development and foster job creation.”
