Minnnesota House Passes 4 Lawsuit Reform Bills With Bipartisan Support
Statement from Speaker of the House Kut Zellers
"Minneosta businesses live with the fear of uncertainty, including frivolous lawsuits and windfall verdicts, that prevent them from investing in growing their business and creating jobs. This sort of lawsuit-friendly environment drives away potential economic activity and puts our state at a competitive disadvantage when competing with other states that have controls in place to prevent lawsuit abuse. The Reform 2.0 lawsuit reforms passed today by the Minnesota House of Representatives provide a balanced approach, streamline the process and discourage incentives for participating in lengthy and expensive lawsuits. We were pleased to receive bipartisan support on these four bills, which will improve Minnesota's business climate, create economic opportunity and grow jobs. We ask Governor Dayton to join us in supporting these reforms."
