Speaker Zellers Statement on Ed Burdick

Today we mourn the loss of Edward A. Burdick. Ed first came to work for the Minnesota House of Representatives in 1941. He served as the Chief Clerk for 38 years, maintaining the decorum of the House chamber with grace and dignity. Ed was a Minnesota icon and the spirit of the Minnesota House of Representatives. Our chamber at the State Capitol will stand united today in memory of a fine man who truly defined the meaning of public servant. He will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.
