NEWS RELEASE

A STATEMENT FROM REP. URDAHL

ST. PAUL – State Representative Dean Urdahl today issued the following statement regarding the 2005 special legislative session.

“I will not be accepting per diem payments during the special session. I hope that we will be able to quickly resolve the differences that divide the House and Senate on major bills. But continuing with my past practice, I will not accept daily pay during the special session."

Urdahl cited that about half of the omnibus bills had been passed during regular session. However, agreement still needs to be reached on major legislation for schools, health and human services, transportion and taxes.
