Precinct caucuses are Tuesday
To the editor,
Precinct caucuses will take place Tuesday, Feb. 7 this year and I highly encourage citizens to attend their local events.
Caucuses are an important part of our political process. These meetings provide Minnesotans with the opportunity to decide what policies are important in national, state and local government, along with electing local leaders. It is important that local citizens voice their opinions during the discussion of issues, since these views eventually influence the platforms of Minnesota's political parties.
The Minnesota Secretary of State website has a statewide Caucus Finder page (http://caucusfinder.sos.state.mn.us) to help citizens find their meeting locations. The more people we have involved in this process, the better and I hope you can attend. Feel free to bring friends and family as well.
