LETTER TO THE EDITOR

REP. URDAHL URGES PRECINCT CAUCUS PARTICIPATION FEB. 2

To the Editor:

I encourage local citizens to get involved in the political process at the grass-roots level by attending precinct caucus meetings Feb. 2.

Caucus meetings give people a chance to be active in Minnesota’s political process by discussing issues and ideas, selecting delegates and establishing candidate preferences. Attendees will have opportunities to run for delegate or alternate positions, present resolutions, volunteer their time, or run for office.

I ask caucus regulars to bring to this year’s meetings a friend or family member, especially those who may be less familiar with these events. All of the Feb. 2 caucus meetings will start at 7 p.m. and you can find your specific location by calling the county auditor’s office or by logging on to the Minnesota Secretary of State’s Web site: www.sos.state.mn.us/home/index.asp.
