NEWS RELEASE

MEETING WILL ADDRESS HISTORY PROGRAM FUNDING

ST. PAUL - The Legislature has appropriated funds for a variety of history programs. A meeting will take place in 10 a.m. Monday at Ridgewater Community College in Willmar, providing citizens and historical organizations with a status update.

The funds are part of the Clean Water, Land, and Legacy Amendment to the Minnesota Constitution, approved by voters in November. The upcoming meeting will not only provide an update for history organizations and citizens, but also allow for public input on implementation of Legacy programs.

“Organizations can learn how to apply for grant money by attending these meetings,” said Rep. Dean Urdahl, R-Grove City.

The MHS also is seeking applications to the Historic Resources Advisory Committee. The deadline for applying is July 31.

Call the MHS at (651) 259-3101 for details.
